Our History

Vision and Mission

Vision and Mission

Founded in 1991 in the aftermath of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption, SIKAT was established to bridge indigenous knowledge with appropriate ecosystem-based approaches. For over three decades, we have supported communities across the archipelago, tackling the root causes of poverty in the fisherfolk sector by championing participatory governance. women empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods.
